ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
Cookies & Caroling December 14 – Caroling down Mill Street – We’ll be meeting up with others from Redeemer, Trinity UMC & Iron Mill churches by the FNB Bank at 6:30pm to carol, then heading to FBC for cookies & hot cocoa. December 16 – Caroling to our dear Shut-ins – We’ll be plating up a yummy assortment of Christmas cookies for our Shut-ins beginning at 4pm in the kitchen then dividing into groups to go caroling! Cookies are Needed! If you would like to provide cookies, please bring them to the kitchen on December 16.
 
Barnabas Sunday During the first Sunday of every month, FBC collects food items for the Danville Food Bank. The collection basket is in the Foyer Dec. 2nd. December’s need is Soup.
 
Blood Drive: Red Cross Blood Drive will be here tomorrow (12/3) in the BFLC from 1:00-6:00pm. Stop and see Jack and Brenda who will be serving food in the kitchen to all donors!
 
The Forge: A Regional Ministry for Men meets on Tuesdays at 7PM in the gym. Our mission is to support one another in life, faith and personal growth with Trust, Confidentiality, and Authenticity. There will be faith based teaching and small group discussion. Light refreshments available.

Midweek Meal: Wednesday, December 5: Dinner is served 4:45-5:45 PM. This week’s menu is Chicken Pot-Pie Crescent Roll with Apple Sauce & the desserts you bring. Please sign up by Monday, 12/3 on the Ramp Bulletin Board, in your SBS class or by calling the office. Suggested donation for meals is $3/person or $10/family. If you know of a shut-in or elderly person and would be willing to deliver a meal to them, it is free of charge. Please put their name on the sign up sheet and indicate “Shut-In”.
 
Check out our Info Cards to see all that FBC has to offer whether it’s on Sundays or Wednesdays, for adults or children, you won’t be disappointed! Cards are located at the Info Desk in the main lobby.
Want to meet our pastors? Stop in and have Pizza with the Pastors on Sunday, December 9 following the 10:30am service! It will be an informal time to get to know them and ask questions. If you are interested, contact the church office.
 
Memorial Poinsettias These can be ordered in honor or memory of a loved one. The suggested donation is $7.50. If you are interested, please call the church office by December 14th to place your order.
 
December Directory Update: Our FBC directory is a compilation of names, addresses, and phone numbers for all those who attend First Baptist Church. We would like for you to be included whether you are a member, regular attendee or new to the community and planning to make FBC your family church. We’ll need your info by December 12. Current attendees/members – has your Info Changed? Please fill out the Info Card with any new info, and circle “D”. New? Please completely fill out Card and circle “D”.
 
Activities for Adults Looking to connect with a fun group of people AND burn calories? Try these out! Adult Open Gym for 25+ years – Mondays 8-10pm. Questions? Contact Leighton Elliott. Wanna Be a Buddy? God’s Champions is a ministry here at FBC that shares God’s love with those who have special needs. Buddies provide one-on-one support so our special friends can enjoy their Sunday School classes, Awana and more! For more information or to volunteer, contact Michele Whitenight. You can also pick up a God’s Champions Volunteer pamphlet at the Info Desk.
 
Christmas Offering Envelopes will be in the pews starting next week. The Christmas Offering will go towards funding for a new church van as well as funding for our future renovation projects.
 
Christmas Tree of Love – Christmas is a time of giving! You will find the Tree of Love in the kitchen foyer by the gym entrance. Each ornament represents a person and a gift request or suggestion. As God leads you, please take an ornament from the tree and return it unwrapped in a Christmas-style gift bag to the church office by December 16th. Please keep the ornament with the gift so we can get it to the right person. If you are giving a gift card, please attach the receipt and/or the activation slip with the gift card.
 
Christmas Gifts for Truckers! During the Christmas season, FBC has been partnering with Pastor Howard Long for many years in his ministry to truck drivers at the Buckhorn Chapel! This year’s needs are packs of sugar-free gum and cookies! If you would like to participate please bring your cookies, 4 per ziplock baggie, to the collection box in the kitchen on December 9. Gum packs can be dropped off anytime until December 9 in the collection boxes in the main lobby & kitchen.
 
Weather Cancellations
Ever wonder if a service, class or study has been cancelled due to bad weather? Here’s where you can find your answer: Our website: www.danvillefirstbaptist.org Radio Stations WPGM (96.7 FM & 1570 AM) and WGRC (107.7 FM, 91.3 FM, 90.7 FM & 107.1 FM) will be notified Danville School Decisions – If Danville Schools are dismissed early or cancelled on a Wednesday, then our Wednesday evening Family Dinner and activities are cancelled as well.
 
Children’s Church Holiday Schedule – Children’s Church will wrap up after today and resume on January 20th. Many Thanks Rosann & Team!!
