FBC Connect Class begins next Sunday, October 5 at 9:15. If you are new here and would like to know what we are all about or if you have questions on being baptized or becoming a member, then this is your class! Church Prayer Walk This Thursday: 5-8PM, Friday: 9AM-5PM, Saturday: 8AM-12 NOON – Come by yourself, with your family, Sunday school class or home group to pray over our church and its ministries. You can pick up your prayer pamphlet in the main lobby to begin your walk.
 
Bells of Joy are Back! Handbell choir is starting up for the Fall. Now is a great time to check it out! The first rehearsal is tomorrow night from 6-7:15pm in the Bell Room. Note: you need to be able to read music.
 
Montour County Feed A Friend Collection basket will be in the Main Foyer through October! Top Suggestions: Canned items such as
vegetables, tuna, cranberry sauce, fruit, soup, pasta & sauce, mac & cheese, boxed stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc. No refrigerated or frozen items, please.
 
Work Trip to Boone, North Carolina with Samaritan’s Purse November 9-14, 2025 – We are looking for men and/or women interested in going to NC to help rebuild after the devastating flooding from Hurricane Helene. An informational meeting will be held next Sunday, October 5th at 9:15am under the balcony.

MIDEEK MINISTRIES BEGIN SEPT. 3
  • Devoted Couples Class  – A class dedicated to following God’s design for marriage and challenging one another to live it out. This group led by Pastor John & Shelly Messner will be meeting at 6pm in the back of the sanctuary.
  • DivorceCare – Divorced? Separated? Struggling in your marriage? Divorce Care is a special seminar and support group that will walk with you through topics like, What’s happening to me?, Facing My Anger, KidCare, Forgiveness, Financial Survival and more. Registration cost is $15. They meet in Room 105 | 2nd floor hallway that parallels the gym.
  • Ladies’ Grief Group – A safe, caring place for women to walk together through seasons of loss and find hope in Christ. They will be meeting in the Conference Room.
  • There is Awana for kids ages 3-6th grade, Youth Group for 6th grade and up, Adult Bible Study and Ladies’ Bible Study (see front). The night begins with our Family Meal at 4:45pm. Signups will be out soon.
 
You’re invited to Wings of Hope 3rd Annual Memorial Butterfly Release Today at 2:30PM in the Gym presented by Compassus Hospice. The public is invited to attend as families celebrate life, commemorate a special occasion or remember those who have passed on. The ceremony will include music, inspirational messages, and a release of butterflies.
 
Special Offering Opportunity This month we will be collecting donations to go towards our FBC-supported missionaries for Christmas gifts. Special envelopes will be available in the pews. Please note “Mission Christmas” on any donations.

Care & Concern Ministry began in October ‘03 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. They make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery or are going through a tough time. This ministry has lifted the hearts of many as the love of Christ is shared in a practical & much needed way. MomCo Playpalooza Kids Play Date & MomCo Open House is Wednesday, August 13 9-11am at FBC. Activities for kids include a bounce house, sensory stations, arts & crafts, and dress up. Come see what MomCo is all about – a community of moms doing motherhood together.
 
Ladies’ Bible Study begins September 9 & 10. The Tuesday study will have two options this year:
  1. 7 Feasts by Erin Davis is an 8 week study answering the question, “Should modern-day believers care about the Feast of Trumpets or other such puzzling celebrations in the Bible?” Book is a suggested donation of $10.
  2. Desperate for Hope by Vaneetha Risner is a 7-session study that tackles the hard questions and offers a scriptural framework to help you find hope in your pain. Book is a suggested donation of $20.

Honduras Team Meeting Sunday (8/3)! Our next trip to Honduras will be January 3-10, 2026. There is a team meeting Sunday in the gym following the second service.
 
MISSIONS RECAP NEXT WEDNESDAY | 6PM – Join us in the gym next Wednesday for a sweet time of fellowship and stories. We’ll be serving ice cream sundaes as we hear from our Costa Rica and Word of Life missions teams. Come celebrate what God is doing around the world through our church.
 
FBC Summer Reading Program! How’s your Bible Reading Challenge coming? Just a reminder, cards are due back in two weeks. Finish up your card, have a parent or guardian sign it. Then return it to the library to earn a prize. Cards are due back to the library August 17th!
 
Fellowship Fund Giving Opportunity In following the biblical directive to take care of our widows and orphans, FBC created the fellowship fund. This fund blesses those financially hurting in our church family. If you would like to give, please note “Fellowship Fund” in the memo of your check or on your envelope.
 
Fishnet: This group of amazing ladies meets on Thursdays from 9AM-12 noon. This week they will be meeting here at the church in Room 107, behind the gym. They process large quantities of eyeglasses and sunglasses to be sent all over the world! If you would like to join them, please contact Linda Beyer.
 
Active Retired Men in Service: Thursdays @ 8:30AM. This great group of guys meets for devotions, prayer time and lots of fellowship! Following their group time, they also help out around the church. Come on over!
 
Care & Concern Ministry began in October ‘03 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. They make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery or are going through a tough time. This ministry has lifted the hearts of many as the love of Christ is shared in a practical & much needed way. Contact the office if you would like to be on our call list.

Vintage Knolls Visit this Saturday at 2pm, Anyone is welcome to come. Contact Jen Van Horn if you are interested. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus to our community. This week, we will be joining the residents making ice cream sundaes!
 
The Barnabas Basket is a monthly food collection that takes place on the first Sunday of the month (Communion Sunday). All donations are given to the Danville Food Bank. The basket will be located in the main foyer. August’s Need: Peanut Butter & Saltines
 
Rice Boxes are still available in the lobby for those wanting to collect their loose change this summer for a good cause! They are due back September 7th with all donations going to Honduras.
 
Ladies Walking Group: This group is open to women of all ages and walking abilities. Come, lace up your walking shoes and connect with others while enjoying the beauty of God’s creation with every step. We meet every other Thursday @ 6:30pm beginning in the gym. After a short break, we are starting up again this Thursday, July 31st!

VBS MISSIONARY PROJECT
The Missionaries: Karen Sam Pang is the Children’s Ministry Director in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. She (along with her husband, Pastor Josue) & her team teach Bible classes on Sunday with music, crafts, & games. They also have outreach programs like VBS, Christmas programs & community outreach where they share food & school supplies with the children.
The Project: Support the Children’s Kitchen (meals for kids) and sports/ play area development (cement pad, artificial grass, sports/play equipment) at our partner church in Honduras 
Our Goal: $7,000 – Mark any donations “VBS Mission” or you can use the designated envelopes in the pews.
 
Family Fun Day is Sunday (7/13)!! Following the VBS Closing ceremony during the 10:30 service, everyone is invited to njoy hotdogs and hamburgers, giant slip-n-slides, a Little’s Splash Area, crafts, lawn games and MORE! FREE!
