Exploring FBC, a class for those who would like to find out more about our church, baptism, and/or membership, begins this morning at 9 AM in the Conference Room. It runs for three weeks.
A Baptism Service is being planned for April 3. Please talk to one of the pastors if you are interested.
Attention Deaconesses ~ There will be a brief meeting next Sunday, March 13, at 10 AM in the Conference Room.
Child Safe Church ~ if you would like to help in any ministry involving children/youth you must have various clearances (details found on our web-site). One of the requirements is to attend a Safe Church Class which will explain FBC’s policies. This class is being offered March 13 and March 20, at 9 AM in the BFLC. Please let the office know if you would like to attend this class.
Prayer Chain 2016 Update: It is time to update our Prayer Chain, which is used for urgent matters, hospitalizations, or for families who have had a death of a loved one, etc. If you are currently on either prayer chain (phone or email) and wish to continue, you do not need to do anything. If you would like to be added to a prayer chain or make any changes, please contact the office.
Have you ever wanted a garden but didn’t know how to make it happen? Let this be the year you do it, and help out the food bank in the process! If you are interested in helping with a garden project that would provide food to the local food bank, please call, or email Sabrina: 570-764-4316) or sabrinasmith78@yahoo.com. You do not need any prior experience or a green thumb…just a willingness to help!
Our Easter Offering this year will go toward Youth Mission Events. If you would like to participate in this offering, Easter Offering Envelopes will be available in the pew racks next Sunday.
Easter flowers may be ordered in honor or memory of a loved one. Suggested donation is $8.50. The flowers will be available to take on Resurrection Sunday after the 10:30 service. Please stop by the Information Desk or call the office by March 23rd.
Daylight Savings Time begins next week. Don’t forget to move your clock ahead one hour Saturday night before you go to bed!
Outside of Springer Chapel & in the main foyer today – please help us save postage by picking up your letter containing the Haiti 10 (April 16-23) Mission Trip details. There is one copy for every family. The team can always use large suitcases to transport materials they are taking with them and linen plastic bags. These items may be placed in the office.

Pick Up Basketball will start today at 2 PM in the Beveridge Family Life Center. It will be every Sunday afternoon unless there is something scheduled in the BFLC. Please contact the office with questions.
Yaddah Pearls are starting a new Bible Study tomorrow, February 22 at 9 AM in the Church Library. All women are invited to join them as they prepare for Easter with the study “The Easter Experience”.

The menu for this week is Meteoric Meatloaf, Molecular Macaroni & Cheese, Seismic Stewed Tomatoes, Galactic Green Beans & Diffused Desserts!! All services begin at 1:30 PM; Men & Women are invited; Child care is provided; Any cancellations due to inclement weather will be announced over WPGM radio station; Feb. 24 ~ Iron Mill Church (Formerly Community Alliance); March 2 ~ First Baptist Church; March 9 ~ Shiloh United Church of Christ; March 16 ~ St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. A period of refreshments and fellowship will follow each program. Finger foods (small sandwiches, cookies, brownies, bars, breads) are needed on March 2 when our church hosts this event. Please bring your donations to the tea and drop them off in the kitchen. Call the office for more information.
Blankets for Syrian Refugees – Place new & gently used blankets (all sizes) in the white barrel in the chapel foyer. Luo Pad Supplies – Please put used towels and used & new flannel in the large gray barrel in the BFLC entrance.
Packing Clothes for Syrian Refugees – Contact the office if you could go with her on March 9 and/or March 18 to GAiN Warehouse.

GAiN Warehouse will be packing used clothing for Syrian Refugees on Feb. 16 (9am-2pm) and Tracing/Cutting Luo Pads on Feb. 18 (8:30am-12 noon). If you are interested in helping with these projects, contact the office.

ANNUAL MEETING WEDNESDAY ~ JANUARY 27, 2016 ~ 6:30 PM ~ SANCTUARY
Once a year the church body meets to review the year we have just completed and look ahead to the New Year. We vote on budgets and members for the boards and committees. At this meeting we will be presenting a report on preliminary findings of possible facility renovation and expansion. We will also present a plan for addressing the Sunday morning schedule question. Members are urged to attend. All others are invited and welcome, but may not vote.
The Budgets , including the General, Missions, & Building Fund, are posted on the bulletin board for your review. The Annual Report is available for you to pick up today. Child care will be available for all ages. So that plans may be made, please sign up today at the Information Desk or call the Office by January 20. Nursery Care will be for Infants – 3 year olds, with supervised play for all others ages.

Exploring FBC begins today. Please join this class, taught by Pastor Dawes, if you are interested in finding out more about our church, baptism, and/or membership. The class will meet at 9:00 AM for three Sundays in the Conference Room.

Please sign up by Monday, Jan. 18 on the Ramp Bulletin Board, in your SBS class, or by calling the office. Suggested donation for meals is $3 per person/$10 per family. If you would like to take a meal to a shut-in there is no charge. Desserts are provided on a volunteer basis.
The Open Door Ladies Bible Study is starting this week at 9 AM on Tuesday mornings. You may sign up for this study and pick up a book in the foyer. This is the same study that also meets on Wednesday evenings.
Sign-up sheets for Upward Saturday Kitchen Crew and food are on a clipboard in the kitchen. Please stop by to sign up if you can help or would like to make a food donation.
