The Annual Business Meeting is this Wed, January 30 at 6:30pm. All are invited to come and hear what God is doing in and through FBC. Please note, only members may vote. There will be no Meal or Ministries January 30.

New Location for Moms In Prayer International! This group of prayer warriors meeting on Thursdays at 9:30am will now be meeting at homes and will have childcare! For information, please contact Eveann Kauffman. “We believe God changes lives and whole communities forever when moms gather together to pray”. If you are a mom, aunt, grandmother, guardian, woman of prayer, join them!
Great Date Night Helpers Needed! We are looking for some big hearts to help with the following areas on Saturday, February 23. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, call the church office (570) 275-1511.

Fishnet Ministries processes large quantities of goods that will be sent to the mission field. This Thursday, they will be working on processing eye glasses in Room 9 from 9-12pm. All are welcome!
A Flurry of Good Reads! Have you blown into our Library recently? No two experiences are the same! You’ll be plowing through all kinds of adventures that will warm your heart! The Library is located across from the toddler nursery and is open 8:45-10:30am on Sundays and 5:45-7:30pm on Wednesdays.

Diaper Bank Truck Unload On Saturday (1/26) the Diaper Bank will need help at 8AM unloading a truck. They are located at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church on the corner of Pine Street & East Market here in Danville.

FBC Music Ministries Choir will begin on Monday evening, January 14th, from 7:15-8:30pm in the sanctuary. If you are interested in joining the choir, come to a rehearsal! Our only requirements are that you love the Lord, attend rehearsals and can match pitch! Bells of Joy handbell choir is a great opportunity for those who can read music to make a joyful noise to the Lord! Our first rehearsal will be on Monday, January 14 at 6-7:15pm in the Bell Room. Praise Team This contemporary group worships during the 10:30am Sunday Service. If you are interested in auditioning, please email Pastor John at pjohn@danvillefirstbaptist.org. He’ll email you songs to rehearse ahead of time, a questionnaire to fill out and setup an audition time with you. Auditions will usually take place Thursday evenings.

Barnabas Sunday During the first Sunday of every month, FBC collects food items for the Danville Food Bank. The collection basket is in the Foyer today. January’s need is for Canned Fruit.

LuoPad Team – Join us the first Thursday of every month at 9:30am as we continue to assemble LuoPads in the BFLC. This is an ongoing mission through GAiN that provides sanitary undergarments to women all over the world! We’d love to have you join us! If you’d like sewing lessons so you can help out, contact Patty Miller.

- Christmas Cookies were brought to 23 of our Shut-ins during our caroling outing on Sunday evening, December 16!
- The Christmas Tree of Love program reached out & blessed 63 people in our community. A special thanks to Ruth Ann Hawkins for coordinating this program!
- 400 Truckers were blessed through donations FBC & other local churches provided.

Trained to be a Muslim evangelist, Paul’s life was interrupted by the Lord in 1997 and he converted to Christianity. Come and hear how he and his wife, Salwa, reach out in a variety of creative ways to Muslims around the world presenting the truth of Christ’s love and teaching Christian apologetics.

Christmas Tree of Love – Christmas is a time of giving! You will find the Tree of Love in the kitchen foyer by the gym entrance. Each ornament represents a person and a gift request or suggestion. As God leads you, please take an ornament from the tree and return it unwrapped in a Christmas-style gift bag to the church office by December 16th. Please keep the ornament with the gift so we can get it to the right person. If you are giving a gift card, please attach the receipt and/or the activation slip with the gift card. *LAST MINUTE ORNAMENTS AVAILABLE!*
Christmas Gifts for Truckers! During the Christmas season, FBC has been partnering with Pastor Howard Long for many years in his ministry to truck drivers at the Buckhorn Chapel! This year’s needs are packs of sugar-free gum and cookies! If you would like to participate please bring your cookies, 4 per ziplock baggie, to the collection box in the kitchen on December 19. Gum packs can be dropped off anytime until December 19 in the collection boxes in the main lobby & kitchen.

Memorial Poinsettias – Poinsettias may be ordered in honor or in memory of a loved one. The suggested donation is $7.50. If you are interested, please stop by the Info Desk or contact the church office at (570) 275-1511 no later than December 14th.
Adult Open Gym Cancelled for Dec. 10 – There will be no Adult Open Gym tomorrow, December 10. Plan on joining us when we resume the following week.
Fishnet Partners Fishnet Ministries processes large quantities of goods that will be sent to the mission field. This Thursday, they will be working in Room 9 on processing eye glasses in the BFLC from 9-12pm. All are welcome!

FBC Connect Class Coming Soon! If you are new here and would like to know what we are all about or if you have questions on being baptized or becoming a member, then this is your class! This is a 3-part class and will take place on January 6, 13 & 20 in the Conference Room (across from the church office) at 9:15am. If you have any questions, feel free to call the church office!
December Directory Update: Our FBC directory is a compilation of names, addresses, and phone numbers for all those who attend First Baptist Church. We would like for you to be included whether you are a member, regular attendee or new to the community and planning to make FBC your church family. We’ll need your info by December 12.
Christmas Cookies for Shut-ins We’ll be caroling to our shut-ins next Sunday, and we give each of them a plate of assorted Christmas cookies! If you would like to donate some yummy cookies, please bring them to kitchen next Sunday and note “shut-ins” on them. Carolers will be in the FBC kitchen at 4pm to begin plating them up.
Christmas Offering Envelopes are located in the pews. The Christmas Offering will go towards funding for a new church van as well as funding for our future renovation projects.

Christmas Tree of Love – Christmas is a time of giving! You will find the Tree of Love in the kitchen foyer by the gym entrance. Each ornament represents a person and a gift request or suggestion. As God leads you, please take an ornament from the tree and return it unwrapped in a Christmas-style gift bag to the church office by December 16th. Please keep the ornament with the gift so we can get it to the right person. If you are giving a gift card, please attach the receipt and/or the activation slip with the gift card.
Christmas Gifts for Truckers! During the Christmas season, FBC has been partnering with Pastor Howard Long for many years in his ministry to truck drivers at the Buckhorn Chapel! This year’s needs are packs of sugar-free gum and cookies! If you would like to participate please bring your cookies, 4 per ziplock baggie, to the collection box in the kitchen on December 9. Gum packs can be dropped off anytime until December 9 in the collection boxes in the main lobby & kitchen.

Cookies & Caroling December 14 – Caroling down Mill Street – We’ll be meeting up with others from Redeemer, Trinity UMC & Iron Mill churches by the FNB Bank at 6:30pm to carol, then heading to FBC for cookies & hot cocoa. December 16 – Caroling to our dear Shut-ins – We’ll be plating up a yummy assortment of Christmas cookies for our Shut-ins beginning at 4pm in the kitchen then dividing into groups to go caroling! Cookies are Needed! If you would like to provide cookies, please bring them to the kitchen on December 16.
Barnabas Sunday During the first Sunday of every month, FBC collects food items for the Danville Food Bank. The collection basket is in the Foyer Dec. 2nd. December’s need is Soup.
Blood Drive: Red Cross Blood Drive will be here tomorrow (12/3) in the BFLC from 1:00-6:00pm. Stop and see Jack and Brenda who will be serving food in the kitchen to all donors!
The Forge: A Regional Ministry for Men meets on Tuesdays at 7PM in the gym. Our mission is to support one another in life, faith and personal growth with Trust, Confidentiality, and Authenticity. There will be faith based teaching and small group discussion. Light refreshments available.

Wanna Be a Buddy? God’s Champions is a ministry here at FBC that shares God’s love with those who have special needs. Buddies provide one-on-one support so our special friends can enjoy their Sunday School classes, Awana and more! For more information or to volunteer, contact Michele Whitenight.
