ANNOUNCEMENTS
FBC Connect Class Begins Today! If you are new here and would like to know what we are all about or if you have questions on being baptized or becoming a member, then this is your class! This is a 3-part class and will take place on September 9, 16 & 23 in the Conference Room (across from the church office) at 9:15am. If you have any questions, feel free to call the church office!
 
Pizza With the Pastors – New to FBC? We welcome you to join the pastors for pizza on Sunday, 9/23 following the 10:30am service. If you are interested in attending, please contact the church office.
 
Midweek Meal: Wednesday, September 12: Dinner is served 4:45-5:45 PM. This week’s menu is Meatloaf, Mac & Cheese, Stewed Tomatoes  & the desserts you bring. Please sign up by Monday, 9/10 on the Ramp Bulletin Board, in your SBS class or by calling the office. Suggested donation for meals is $3/person or $10/family. If you know of a shut-in or elderly person and would be willing to deliver a meal to them, it is free of charge. Please put their name on the sign up sheet and indicate “Shut-In”. Desserts are on a donation basis, so feel free to share a dessert any time.

  The Forge – New Men’s Group at FBC! Tuesdays beginning 9/18 – 7PM – The Forge’s mission is to bring men together to support one another in life, faith and personal growth. We do this with Trust, Confidentiality, and Authenticity striving to deepen relationships and make new ones. There will be faith based teaching and small group discussion. Light refreshments will be available.

MOPS First Meeting is Wednesday at 9AM! MOPS is part of an international movement to connect moms who have one or more children ages birth to kindergarten. Our goal is to provide you with a tribe of supportive women as you navigate the world of motherhood, faith, and life together. For more info or to register go to www.danvillefirstbaptist.org/mops/.

  Trunk-or-Treat Meeting! All heads of ministries and Sunday Bible School classes are encouraged to attend this planning session on Tuesday 9/11 at 6:30pm in the Chapel. Bring your ideas, plans and suggestions!

Fall Work Day! Come beautify FBC on Saturday, September 22 from 8am-12pm! There will be a list of jobs needing done around the church that you can choose from. All ages & abilities welcome! Refreshments will be provided. If you are interested, circle “W” on your connect card.
 
Ladies Open Door Bible Study will be going through the book of Colossians as they study Gloria Furman’s book Raised Together. The Tuesday session begins on 9/18 at 9am; Wednesday session is currently meeting at 6pm. Books are a suggested donation of $14. Sign up today in the main lobby! Nursery needs? Saturday Evening Services After much discussion and prayer, the pastoral staff and the deacon board came to the decision to discontinue the Saturday Evening Services at this time. We appreciate your prayers as we continue to seek God’s guidance on how to most effectively reach our community for Christ.

  Football Chapel is on Friday, 9/28 at 10am. A few big hearts are needed to make and serve breakfast to the football team and cheerleaders. If you are interested in helping, circle “F” on your connect card or call the church office.

Bulletin Collators Needed We need 1 or 2 people to put together our service bulletins on Friday afternoons. The job takes about 1.5 hours and bulletins are typically ready by 2pm. This is a sit down job. If you are interested, contact the church office.
 
The Summer Soup Can Project is wrapping up! Please return your Soup Can and change to FBC by next Sunday, September 16th. The Haiti Team greatly appreciates any support you’re able to offer. With these funds, they will be able to hand out glasses for reading and distance as well as sunglasses!
 

FBC Music ministries

Choir practice will begin on Monday evening, September 10th, from 7:15-8:30pm in the sanctuary. If you are interested in joining the choir, come to a rehearsal or contact the church office! Our only requirements are that you love the Lord, attend rehearsals and can match pitch!
Bells of Joy handbell choir is a great opportunity for those who can read music to make a joyful noise to the Lord! Our first rehearsal will be on Monday, September 10 at 6-7:15pm in the Bell Room.  Want more info? Contact the church office.
Praise Team This contemporary group worships during the 10:30am Sunday Service. If you are interested in auditioning, please email Pastor John at pjohn@danvillefirstbaptist.org. He’ll email you songs to rehearse ahead of time, a questionnaire to fill out and setup an audition time with you.  Auditions will usually take place Thursday evenings.
 
“Come & Help in The Kitchen!” We are looking for big hearts to help us out in the kitchen on Wednesday evenings. Here’s how you can help & the estimated time needed; Food Prep (3 hours), Setup (1 hour), Serving (1.5 hours) & Clean-up (1.5 hours).

 

Techies needed

Sound Tech: Love music? Have an ear to hear the different instruments in a song? We will equip you to mix and run our sound boards for our radio and sanctuary sound ministry.  Interested? Circle “S” for sound ministry. Projector Tech: If you love worship music and can navigate a computer, we could use a talented computer tech to run our lyrics for worship services.  If you are that person, circle “P” for projector team.

Video Tech (New!): You will be controlling multiple cameras via one master computer.  If you have an eye for live broadcasting and enjoy multitasking, please sign up by circling “V” for video tech on your connect card.
