ANNOUNCEMENTS

Missionary Dessert Reception TODAY (10/7)  at 6pm with Lucas & Bekah Grudda. Join us to encourage and be encouraged as the Gruddas share their plans to return to Senegal, serving with World Venture! Any and all desserts would be appreciated! Please bring them to the kitchen. Barnabas Sunday During the first Sunday of every month, FBC collects food items for the Danville Food Bank. The collection basket is in the Foyer today. October’s need is for noodles and macaroni.

Fishnet Partners! Fishnet Ministries processes large quantities of goods that will be sent to the mission field. This Thursday, they will be working on processing eye glasses in Room 9 from 9-12pm. All are welcome!
 
Midweek Meal: Wednesday, October 10: Dinner is served 4:45-5:45 PM. This week’s menu is Foil-Wrapped Ranch Chicken & Broccoli with Garlic & Herb Potatoes, Applesauce & the desserts you bring. Please sign up by Monday, 10/8 on the Ramp Bulletin Board, in your SBS class or by calling the office. Suggested donation for meals is $3/person or $10/family. If you know of a shut-in or elderly person and would be willing to deliver a meal to them, it is free of charge. Please put their name on the sign up sheet and indicate “Shut-In”.
 

October is Pastor Appreciation Month! Card boxes have been setup on a table in the main foyer if you would like to bless the pastors & their families with a card. Blood Drive: Tomorrow Red Cross Blood Drive will be here tomorrow (10/8) in the BFLC from 1:00-6:00pm. Stop and see Jack and Brenda who will be serving food in the kitchen to all donors! Coffee Hour Help Needed The Sunday morning Coffee Hour group would like to add another friendly face to their team! If you are interested or have questions, contact Christine Puccio.

Trim Healthy Mama Are you looking for a healthier eating lifestyle? Maybe you have heard of Trim Healthy Mama and would like to know more or have already started and are completely overwhelmed. Following the 10:30am service on October 14, you are invited to our THM group meeting. A potluck dinner will be held, sharing THM dishes and recipes, as well as discussion about the program. RSVP to Rachel Renno by October 10.
 

The Forge: A Regional Ministry for Men meets on Tuesdays at 7PM in the gym. Our mission is to support one another in life, faith and personal growth with Trust, Confidentiality, and Authenticity. There will be faith based teaching and small group discussion. Light refreshments available.

Care & Concern Ministry began in October ‘03 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. They make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery, or are going through a tough time. They also provide transportation to shut-ins needing a ride to doctors’ appointments as well! If you are interested in join this team of big hearts, please circle “C” on your bulletin and mention if you are interested in making meals, transportation, or both!

Hurricane Relief – If you’d like to help Global Aid Network financially, feel free to put your donation in the Love Offering envelope located in the pew rack and note “hurricane” on the envelope. If you would like to donate by check, please make it out to FBC and note “hurricane” in the memo.

 

Awana Kiddos are Collecting Pet Food! If you would like to donate, bins are located in the Springer Chapel lobby as well as the BFLC (gym) foyer during the month of October.

School Supplies for Haiti – The Haiti Team is collecting school supplies for the children of Haiti. They’ll distribute them on their November mission trip. Please leave your donations of the following suggested items in the basket outside the kitchen.

  • Ball Point Pens
  • Spiral notebooks, large with 70 pages
  • Wooden Pencils
  • Notebooks of graph paper
  • Erasers (not a slip-on pencil eraser)
  • Small individual pencil sharpeners
  • Small tubes of toothpaste
  • Notebooks of lined paper/tablets

Feed-A-Friend of Montour County – Collection basket will be in the Main Foyer starting next Sunday for the month of October! Top Suggestions:  Canned items such as vegetables, tuna, cranberry sauce, fruit – Pasta, Mac & Cheese, Soup, Boxed Stuffing, etc. No refrigerated or frozen items, please. College Care Ministry – Mid-terms will be here before you know it!! The donation box is in the kitchen foyer until October 28. Suggested items to donate: Easy Mac & Cheese (envelopes), Hot Chocolate, Microwave Popcorn, Ramen noodles (not cups), Indiv. Packages of crackers,  Breakfast/Cereal Bars, Indiv. Rice Krispie Treats, Individual Pkg. of Trail Mix/Nuts, Post-It Notes Stamps, Glue Sticks Highlighters, Treat-sized choc. Candy, Hard Candy, Tic-Tacs/Mints Gum, Lifesavers, Chapstick, Pencils, Black or Blue Pens, Tissue Packets, Individual boxes of Raisins

Monetary donations are gratefully accepted to help with postage costs as well as buying supplemental items. Please designate “College ministry” and place in the offering.
