Family Meal Wednesday
Served: 4:45-5:45PM | Suggested Donation is $3/person or $10/family
Sign Up by Monday: Ramp Bulletin Board, in SBS class or call the office
Menu: “Breakfast for Dinner” and the desserts you bring. Desserts are on a donation basis; feel free to share a dessert any time.
Special Needs: If you know of a shut-in or elderly person you would like to deliver a meal to, please sign them up and indicate “Shut-In”. Meals for special needs are free of charge.
 
Baptisms during the 8am service! Several have made the decision to follow Jesus’ example in baptism! Please encourage them today and in their ongoing walk with Jesus.
 
Ladies’ Bible Study begins this week! Isaiah by Melissa Spoelstra – Isaiah communicated clearly that followers of God could trust in Him. In 7 weeks of group sessions, unpack Isaiah’s words to reveal that you can trust God more than your own human effort or the counterfeits the world suggests. You won’t be striving harder, but instead trusting more deeply in the Faithful One who is so worthy of our utter dependence. In Him you’ll find the comfort and peace you need to sustain you. 2023 Giving Reports will be mailed out this month for tax purposes. Prefer to have it emailed to you? Let us know. Did You Know?? You can check to see if your Child Clearances are up to date or will soon need to renew. An updated list is posted in the Sunday School office across from the chapel.
 
Breakfast Sweets Needed Our Sunday morning Coffee Hour team would be grateful for any homemade or store-bought breakfast foods. Please drop off in the kitchen before 9am. Many heartfelt thanks! Wanna join them? Talk to one of our coffee team members. They will walk you through what you need to know! A HUGE Thank You for the donations we’ve received!!
 
Fishnet This group of amazing ladies meets on Thursdays from 9AM-12 noon at the home of Linda Beyer. They process large quantities of eyeglasses and sunglasses to be sent all over the world! If you would like to join them, please call Donna Outt.
 
Active Retired Men in Service Thursdays @ 8:30AM. This great group of guys meets for devotions, prayer time and lots of fellowship! Following their group time, they also help out around the church as well. Come on over!
 
Annual Business Meeting Saturday, January 27 @ 9AM – YES! There will be breakfast! Join us for sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches, breakfast potatoes and fresh cinnamon buns. Sign up on your connect card or in your Sunday School class and note how many will be attending. The meeting will take place once everyone has gotten their food. We encourage your attendance as there will be important matters of discussion. Please pick up your copy of the proposed revisions in the Main Lobby and on the Welcome Table in the gym.We will be voting on:
  • newly nominated Board & Committee members
  • transferring money from Haiti missions to Short Term missions
  • proposed budgets for 2024
  • proposed revisions to the Constitution re: business meetings
 
Sanctity of Life Sunday School All adult classes will be meeting in the BFLC on Sunday, Jan. 21st at 9:15am as we hear from Linda Harris of Corner of Hope Pregnancy Center, Shamokin. We hope you will join us for this special presentation.
 
Bells of Joy are Back! Handbell choir is starting up again for the spring. Now is a great time to check it out! The first rehearsal will be next
Monday, January 15th from 6-7:15pm in the Bell Room. Note: you need to be able to read music.
 
Calling All Prayer Warriors! It’s time to update our Prayer Chain! There is nothing more powerful than lifting each other in prayer to our Loving Father in times of great need. The Prayer Chain is available by phone and/or email. If you would like to be added, contact the church office.
 
Game Night Friday, Jan 26th at 6PM! Bring your favorite board games and snacks to the BFLC for a night of fun, laughs and community LIFE!
 
Audio/Visual Techs Needed! Full coaching and training provided! Interested? Email pjohn@danvillefirstbaptist.org
  • Sound Tech: Love music? Have an ear to hear the different instruments in a song? We will equip you to mix and run our sound boards for our radio and sanctuary sound ministry.
  • Projector Tech: If you love worship music and can navigate a computer, we could use a talented computer tech to run our lyrics for worship
    services.
  • Video Tech: If you have an eye for live broadcasting and enjoy multitasking, you will be controlling multiple cameras via one master computer.
