ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
LuoPad Team – Join us the first Thursday of every month at 9:30am as we continue to assemble LuoPads in the BFLC. This is an ongoing mission through GAiN that provides sanitary undergarments to women all over the world! We’d love to have you join us! If you’d like sewing lessons so you can help out, contact Patty Miller.
 
Barnabas Sunday: Next Week! During the first Sunday of every month, FBC collects food items for the Danville Food Bank. The collection basket will be in the Foyer next Sunday. January’s need is Canned Fruit.
 
Soup Can Need – In this season for soup, the Mission Board is in need of empty, clean, 10.5oz soup cans. Please drop off by the kitchen. Thanks!
 
Baptism Service Coming! There will be a baptism service taking place on January 27. If you are interested in being baptized at this service, let the pastors know by January 13!
 
No Midweek Meal or Ministries 1/2 – Both will resume January 9th.
 
New Year’s Eve Celebration! Join us in the gym at 5pm for Dinner & a Movie! We’ll be serving Chinese food for dinner. Suggested donation of $5/person or $15/family. Dessert donations are greatly appreciated!
 
Weather Cancellations – Ever wonder if a service, class or study has been cancelled due to bad weather? Here’s where you can find your answer:

  • Radio Stations WPGM (96.7 FM & 1570 AM) and WGRC (107.7 FM, 91.3 FM, 90.7 FM & 107.1 FM) will be notified
  • Danville School Decisions – If Danville Schools are dismissed early or cancelled on a Wednesday, then our Wednesday evening Family Dinner and activities are cancelled as well.
 
Costa Rica Mission Trip: July 28-Aug 4 – A team is currently being put together to minister to the people of Costa Rica! The focus will be construction and medical. If you are interested, stop by the Info Desk and pick up an Application and Info Letter. Applications are due January 27th!

Ladies Open Door Bible Study – God of Covenant, by Jen Wilkin – Beginning with Genesis 12, discover how God orchestrates everything for His glory and the good of His people, and see how the God of creation and covenant is the same yesterday, today and forever. This 10 week study is great no matter where you are in your spiritual journey! The workbook is a suggested donation of $14. Childcare is available and can be requested at sign-up. See you there!
 
Ladies Grief Group – Wednesdays | 6PM | Beginning Jan. 9 – They will begin their new study, Grief-God’s Help in Times of Sorrow by Cathy Gardner Maddams & Jim Reapsome. “When dealing with a painful loss, we often ask ourselves questions such as, What am I going to do with my life? How will I get through each day? What if I never stop crying? The journey of healing is a long one that requires time, patience and loving support. God understands your pain.” The workbook for the study is a suggested donation of $7. Sign up in the main lobby!
 
Because of your Love In Action…
  • Christmas Cookies were brought to 23 of our Shut-ins during our caroling outing on Sunday evening, December 16!
  • The Christmas Tree of Love program reached out & blessed 63 people in our community. A special thanks to Ruth Ann Hawkins for coordinating this program!
  • 400 Truckers were blessed through donations FBC & other local churches provided.
 
New Year’s Eve Desserts Needed Desserts are needed for the New Years Eve Dinner & a Movie. Donations can be dropped off in the kitchen, Sunday December 31st. Thank you in advance!
 
Annual Reports Needed The Annual Business Meeting on January 30th will be here before you know it! All Ministry, Committee & Board leaders, please turn your reports into the office by January 17th.

FBC Connect Class Coming Soon! If you are new here and would like to know what we are all about or if you have questions on being baptized or becoming a member, then this is your class! This is a 3-part class and will take place on January 6, 13 & 20 in the Conference Room (across from the church office) at 9:15am. If you have any questions, feel free to call the church office!
 
Large Print Our Daily Bread Devotionals… OOPS! Our Daily Bread recently discovered that 2018 articles were reprinted in the new 2019 large print Jan/Feb/Mar devotions. The replacement devotions will arrive mid-January. We’ll let you know when the new ones arrive!
