Barnabas Sunday During the first Sunday of every month, FBC collects food items for the Danville Food Bank. The collection basket is in the Foyer next Sunday. September’s need is for Canned Vegetables.
 
Shine Wraps Up Today! Heartfelt thanks to everyone who was a part of this combined Sunday School over the summer!! Regular children’s classes will continue next Sunday. Check out our Sunday School brochure at the Info Desk for all the info you can handle!
 
Summer Soup Cans are Due Next Sunday! Remember those cans you picked up in May to put loose change in for the sunglasses & eye glasses that are handed out on mission trips? Well they’re going to be due September 1st!
 
FBC Connect is Coming!! If you are new here and would like to know what we are all about or if you have questions on being baptized or becoming a member, then this is your class! This is a 3-part class and will take place on Sept. 8, 15 & 22 in the Conference Room (across from the church office) during the Sunday School hour. NEW! Wednesday sessions will also be offered on Sept. 11, 18 & 25, at 6pm!

Unaltered Tour – SATURDAY | OCT 5 | 7-9P – Obedience to the truth leads to freedom and the fullness of life. MOPS is part of an international movement to connect moms who have one or more children ages birth to kindergarten. Our goal is to provide you with a tribe of supportive women as you navigate the world of motherhood, faith, and life together. NEW!! MOMSNEXT is for moms with school aged kiddos!! This new small group will have their own table(s) at the MOPS meetings. Meetings are held 9-11am 2nd Wednesday of each month September through May.   • Adult Bible Study: Pastor Paul will be leading a study on the book of Galatians. Under the Sanctuary Balcony
  • Ladies Grief Group: Any woman who has experienced significant loss, whether a loved one or a relationship, is welcome. Tassy Swank & Linda Beyer will be leading the journey through the book Beyond the Broken Heart by Julie Yarbrough. Suggested book donation is $11. Room 105/Daughters of the Divine Room
  • Ladies’ Open Door Bible Study: We’ll be studying Proven by Jennie Allen, an 8 week study on the book of John. Tuesday morning sessions will begin on 9/24 at 9:00am.   • Divorce Care Group: Divorced? Separated? Struggling in your marriage? School Supplies for Rochester, NY! During the month of August, we’ll be collecting school supplies to help Marv Robinson, an FBC supported missionary, as he ministers to the children of Rochester. Please leave your donations of the following suggested items in the bins outside the kitchen by Sunday 8/25.
  • Ball Point Pens
  • Boxes of Crayons (24/box preferred)
  • Spiral notebooks, large with 70 pages*
  • Wooden Pencils
  • Backpacks*
  • Erasers (not a slip-on pencil eraser)
  • Toothbrushes
  • Small tubes of toothpaste
 
FBC Music Ministries
  • Choir practice will begin on Monday evening, September 9th, from 7:15-8:30pm in the sanctuary. If you are interested in joining the choir, come to a rehearsal or contact the church office! Our only requirements are that you love the Lord, attend rehearsals and can match pitch!
  • Bells of Joy handbell choir is starting up for the Fall as well. Now is a great time to check it out. You just need to be able to read music. Our first rehearsal will be on Monday, September 9 from 6-7:15pm in the Bell Room. Want more info? Contact the church office.
  • Praise Team This contemporary group worships during the 10:30am Sunday Service. If you are interested in auditioning, please email Pastor John at pjohn@danvillefirstbaptist.org. He’ll email you songs to rehearse ahead of time, a questionnaire to fill out and setup an audition time with you. Auditions will usually take place Thursday evenings.
 
The Forge Men’s Ministry – Tuesdays beginning 9/10 – 7PM – The Forge’s mission is to bring men together to support one another in life, faith and personal growth. We do this with Trust, Confidentiality, and Authenticity striving to deepen relationships and make new ones. There will be faith based teaching, small group discussion & light refreshments.
