Christmas Eve Candlelight Services 5:30pm-Family Candlelight Service – Children ages 4-6 are welcome to be part of the Nativity story 7:30pm-Traditional Candlelight Service

Soup Can Need In this season for soup, the Mission Board is in need of empty, clean, 10.5oz soup cans. Please drop off by the kitchen.

Christmas Offering Envelopes are located in the pews. The Christmas Offering will go toward funding for a new church van as well as funding for our future renovation projects.

Combined Adult Sunday School – December 30! – 9:15am in the sanctuary to meet the Ameens! Paul was born and raised as a Muslim in Egypt, firstborn of the imam of the mosque. Trained to be a Muslim evangelist, Paul’s life was interrupted by the Lord in 1997 and he converted to Christianity. Come and hear how he and his wife, Salwa, reach out in a variety of creative ways to Muslims around the world presenting the truth of Christ’s love and teaching Christian apologetics.

New Year’s Eve Celebration! Join us in the BFLC at 5pm for Dinner & a Movie! Sign up today by contacting the church office at (570) 275-1511. We’ll be serving Chinese food for dinner. Suggested donation of $5/person or $15/family. Dessert donations are greatly appreciated!

FBC Connect Class Coming Soon! If you are new here and would like to know what we are all about or if you have questions on being baptized or becoming a member, then this is your class! Christmas Tree of Love – Christmas is a time of giving! You will find the Tree of Love in the kitchen foyer by the gym entrance. Each ornament represents a person and a gift request or suggestion. As God leads you, please take an ornament from the tree and return it unwrapped in a Christmas-style gift bag to the church office by December 16th. Please keep the ornament with the gift so we can get it to the right person. If you are giving a gift card, please attach the receipt and/or the activation slip with the gift card. *LAST MINUTE ORNAMENTS AVAILABLE!*

Christmas Gifts for Truckers! During the Christmas season, FBC has been partnering with Pastor Howard Long for many years in his ministry to truck drivers at the Buckhorn Chapel! This year’s needs are packs of sugar-free gum and cookies! If you would like to participate please bring your cookies, 4 per ziplock baggie, to the collection box in the kitchen on December 19. Gum packs can be dropped off anytime until December 19 in the collection boxes in the main lobby & kitchen.

Fishnet Partners Fishnet Ministries processes large quantities of goods that will be sent to the mission field. This Thursday, they will be working in Room 9 on processing eye glasses in the BFLC from 9-12pm. All are welcome!

Memorial Poinsettias – Poinsettias may be ordered in honor or in memory of a loved one. The suggested donation is $7.50. If you are interested, please stop by the Info Desk or contact the church office at (570) 275-1511 no later than December 14th.

Adult Open Gym Cancelled for Dec. 10 – There will be no Adult Open Gym tomorrow, December 10. Plan on joining us when we resume the following week.

Christmas Tracts & More! Check out the Tract Rack for holiday inspired tracts, 2019 calendars, as well as the new Our Daily Bread devotional. These free resources help in sharing encouragement and the good news!

Cookies & Caroling December 14 – Caroling down Mill Street – We’ll be meeting up with others from Redeemer, Trinity UMC & Iron Mill churches by the FNB Bank at 6:30pm to carol, then heading to FBC for cookies & hot cocoa. December 16 – Caroling to our dear Shut-ins – We’ll be plating up a yummy assortment of Christmas cookies for our Shut-ins beginning at 4pm in the kitchen then dividing into groups to go caroling! Cookies are Needed! If you would like to provide cookies, please bring them to the kitchen on December 16.

Barnabas Sunday During the first Sunday of every month, FBC collects food items for the Danville Food Bank. The collection basket is in the Foyer Dec. 2nd. December’s need is Soup.

Blood Drive: Red Cross Blood Drive will be here tomorrow (12/3) in the BFLC from 1:00-6:00pm. Stop and see Jack and Brenda who will be serving food in the kitchen to all donors!

The Forge: A Regional Ministry for Men meets on Tuesdays at 7PM in the gym. Our mission is to support one another in life, faith and personal growth with Trust, Confidentiality, and Authenticity. There will be faith based teaching and small group discussion. Light refreshments available.

Missionary Dessert Reception – TODAY at 6pm with Barry & Peggy Owen, Serving in Taiwan with World Venture – Any and all desserts would be appreciated! Please bring them to the kitchen for the 6PM service in the chapel.

Office Holiday Hours – Please note, the Church Office will be closed on Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.

Fall into a Good Book Lately? Stop by our Library and rake in a bunch of good reads! Who knows what adventures you’ll go on as you leaf through the pages! The Library is located across from the Nurseries and is open 8:45-10:30am on Sundays and 5:45-7:30pm on Wednesdays.

The Feed-a-Friend program gave food baskets to 383 families in our community!
Diane Gelbaugh, who coordinated the Jubilee Kitchen’s Thanksgiving meal yesterday, was overwhelmed with the generous support from the congregation. The youth had a great time helping to serve the meal as part of their 30 Hour Famine event.

Thanksgiving Offering Envelopes are located in the pew racks for the next few Sundays. Donations will go toward Christmas gifts for the missionaries that we support as well as funding towards an upcoming short term relief missions trip. We’ll have more info on the trip to come.

30 Hour Famine Nov. 16-17 Our Youth will be taking part in the 30 Hour Famine To help raise awareness and funds for hungry children around the world. Would you stand with us in praying for and/or donating to help us fight hunger? Checks can be made out to World Vision and given to P. Items collected for our LuoPad Team helped them exceed their goal of 500 kits and finish up with a grand total of 530 kits!

Missionary Dessert Receptions: TODAY (11/4) at 6pm with Mike & Debbie Bannon serving in Ireland.

Coming Up: 11/11 – Jason Martello, trip to Africa; 11/18 – Barry & Peggy Owen, Taiwan Any and all desserts would be appreciated! Please bring them to the kitchen for the 6PM services.

Barnabas Sunday – During the first Sunday of every month, FBC collects food items for the Danville Food Bank. The collection basket is in the Foyer today. November’s need is for Tuna & Canned Meats.

Fishnet Partners! Fishnet Ministries processes large quantities of goods that will be sent to the mission field. This Thursday, they will be working on processing eye glasses in Room 9 from 9-12pm. All are welcome!

Midweek Meal: Wednesday, November 7: Dinner is served 4:45-5:45 PM. This week’s menu is Meatball Stroganoff with Noodles and Cranberry Salad & the desserts you bring. Please sign up by Monday, 11/5 on the Ramp Bulletin Board, in your SBS class or by calling the office. Suggested donation for meals is $3/person or $10/family. If you know of a shut-in or elderly person and would be willing to deliver a meal to them, it is free of charge. Please put their name on the sign up sheet and indicate “Shut-In”.

Special L.E.A.D. Luncheon Next Sunday! God’s Champions Special Needs Ministry is inviting Hand in Hand Family Resource Center to provide a training called L.E.A.D.- Leaders Embracing All-Abilities and Diversity. The training includes tips and information on interacting appropriately with people with disabilities with the goal of a more inclusive environment. Help our church take a LEAD in embracing individuals with special needs! When: November 11, 2018 Time: Luncheon after 10:30 church service – Training at 1:00 Sign up by TODAY on the ramp bulletin board or in the office.

Football Chapel is This Friday 11/9 at 6:30am. Big hearts are needed to make and serve breakfast to the football team and cheerleaders. Interested in helping? Contact the church office.

FBC is Hosting the Jubilee Kitchen on November 17. Monetary donations and desserts would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Diane Gelbaugh if you are interested in donating and/or making a dessert.

Voter Guides are available at the Info Desk for the upcoming election.

Pictures of Veterans Needed – During our Veterans Day Sunday services, FBC would like to honor any veteran who has served. Please send in a picture of your veteran in military dress, if possible, to the church office by November 6th. Please also include their name and which branch of the military they served in. All pictures in last year’s Veterans Day slide show will be included in this year’s slide show. You do not have to re-submit pictures.

30 Hour Famine – Our Youth will be taking part in the 30 Hour Famine on November 16-17 to help raise awareness and funds for hungry children around the world. Would you stand with us in praying for and/or donating to help us fight hunger? Checks can be made out to World Vision and given to P. Luke as the contact person or visit our fundraising page at youth.worldvision.org/teams/ironyouth.

LuoPad Team – Join us the first Thursday of every month at 9:30am as we continue to assemble LuoPads in the BFLC. This is an ongoing mission through GAiN that provides sanitary undergarments to women all over the world! We’d love to have you join us! If you’d like sewing lessons so you can help out, contact Patty Miller.

Brian Stamm’s Memorial Service is Today Brian was a legend in Danville wrestling who was a state champion, part of the state championship team, honored as an NCAA Division III All-American and inducted into the District IV Wrestling Hall of Fame. He went on to marry Lori and have a wonderful family which included 7 children. He faithfully served his Jesus and was very active in his local church. After a 7 year battle with cancer, he passed away at the age of 43. His mother, Norene, is FBC family and invites you to remember her son with her on Sunday 10/28 at 3pm with a time of fellowship to follow in the BFLC.

Feed-A-Friend of Montour County – Collection basket will be in the Main Foyer until October 28th! Top Suggestions: Canned items such as vegetables, tuna, cranberry sauce, fruit – Pasta, Mac & Cheese, Soup, Boxed Stuffing, etc. No refrigerated or frozen items, please.

Haiti Support Letters – The Haiti Mission Team is getting ready to go on their trip November 10-17! If you would like to support their trip, letters are available in the main lobby.
