MOPS REGISTRATION NOW OPEN – Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) is part of an international movement to connect moms who have one or more children ages birth to kindergarten. Their goal is to provide you with a tribe of supportive women as you navigate the world of motherhood, faith, and life together. MOMSNEXT is for moms with school aged kiddos!! Fishnet Meeting this Week This group of ladies meets Thursdays 9AM-12 noon at the home of Linda Beyer. They process large quantities of eyeglasses and sunglasses to be sent all over the world! If you would like to join them, please contact Donna Outt.

Prison Ministry Update The men’s prison ministry received the green light to begin again!! Praise God!! They’ll be headed back to the North Central Secure Treatment Unit here in Danville starting this week. Prayer begins in the parking lot at 7pm prior to visits (Tuesdays at Focus Unit and
Wednesdays at Hope Unit). The desperate need that this ministry is meeting requires as many godly men that would come forward. The women’s prison ministry is already in their 7th week of meeting! This faithful group of women meet Monday evenings to bring the good news of hope and spiritual freedom to the women of North Central Secure Treatment Unit. If you are interested in the prison ministry, contact Jim Cunfer.

FBC Summer Reading Program Our Library Summer Reading Program is wrapping up today. Return your signed race card to the library and earn a prize once you have crossed the finish line! A parent/guardian signature is required on your completed card for prize eligibility. Cards are due by TODAY (8/15)!

Kitchen Call Wednesday Family meals begin September 1st! Do you enjoy cooking? How about helping in the kitchen? Or setting up the dining area? Maybe even dishwashing! This well-loved ministry will be back in action soon and needs help! Contact the office.

Blanket Collection for Unto From locust infestations to forest fires, to floods, blankets have been in high demand! As a result, Unto, formerly GAiN, is in dire need of replenishing their blanket stock and is collecting new or gently-used blankets. Our collection point is in the main foyer through today!

Christian Literature Collection We’ll be collecting gently used Bibles, Christian books, CD’s and DVD’s. All materials will be brought to the Experience Missions collection point in Williamsport who will sort, organize and ship it around the world! Note: No Guidepost, please. Mission of the Week: HAITI’S SCHOOL CHILDREN! The Missionary: Francklin (shown with his wife Nerlie) was appointed as a missionary with Missions Door in 2006 to serve as the youth and children’s ministries coordinator. The Project: For many children in Haiti, the cost of education often hinders them from attending school and receiving an education. Your support to the Haiti Children’s School Scholarships project is an opportunity to provide a child with the gift of an education. All gifts given to this project go directly towards paying for school fees. The Numbers: Cost for 1 Child to attend school for 1 year: $ 355.00. Special Business Meeting We’ll be convening at 9AM on Sunday, July 25th. Following the 8am service, join us in the sanctuary! We’ll be recommending new members. We do not expect this meeting to impact Sunday School classes. All are welcome! Only members may vote though.

Family Fun Day NEXT Sunday Following the VBS Closing ceremony during the 10:30 service, everyone is invited to enjoy hotdogs and hamburgers, a giant slip-n-slide with a lagoon, a Little’s splash area, Bocce, Corn Hole, Ga-Ga pit and MORE! No cost! We’ll also have softball for Sr. highers and older!! Sign up for a team in the main foyer or call the office to register your team of 10 by Friday. Bring own equipment. Family Fun Day Volunteers Needed To make this event as fun as it always is we are going to need help!! The following jobs needs are…
SATURDAY: Event Setup at 1pm – meet in gym SUNDAY: Kitchen help (meal setup, facilitation, clean up), game facilitators (bocce, corn hole, etc.), Slip-n-Slide facilitators, Event Clean-up. Sign up to help at the table in the main foyer!

VBS MISSION PROJECT – The Missionary: Francklin (shown with his wife Nerlie) was appointed as a missionary with Missions Door in 2006 to serve as the youth and children’s ministries coordinator. He works with the pastors of churches that are associated with Missions Door in Haiti, helping those churches develop children’s and youth ministries. The Project: For many children in Haiti, the cost of education often hinders them from attending school and receiving an education. Your support to the Haiti Children’s School Scholarships project is an opportunity to provide a child with the gift of an education. All gifts given to this project go directly towards paying for school fees. The Numbers: Cost for 1 Child to attend school for 1 year is $355.00. This amount includes: Entry fee of $12, monthly cost of $20 (x9 months = $180), and school supplies worth $50 (includes uniforms!). Family Fun Day is Sunday, July 18!! Following the VBS Closing ceremony during the 10:30 service, everyone is invited to enjoy hotdogs and hamburgers, a giant slip-n-slide with a lagoon, a Little’s splash area, Bocce, Corn Hole, Ga-Ga pit and MORE! No cost! We’ll also have softball for Sr. highers and older!! Sign up for a team in the main foyer or call the office to register your team of 10 by 7/17. Bring own equipment. (Disclaimer: Outdoor events are weather pending)

LuoPad Ministry Meeting this Thursday 7/1 at 9:30AM in the gym. This dynamic group of ladies will meet on the first Thursday of each month to
assemble sanitary garments for women in third world countries. 1000’s have been made and sent around the world already!

Service Projects Needed! The youth group has two weekends as well as other days over the summer to help with small or simple projects, like
yard work, painting, etc. But we won’t just show up to a random house, so we need to know if you or someone you know has some service opportunities for us! You can contact Pastor Luke with any jobs.

We are collecting donations to fund the food we’ll be packing on Saturday, September 11th, and shipping to Unto, who partners with Cru, and ships the food globally! Why food? Food allows their partners and pastors on the ground all over the world to access remote places they are not usually permitted to go. While distributing the food, they build relationships and are able to share the gospel!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

In Honor of Our Fathers FBC is giving $100 to our prison ministry. This ministry brings the good news of the gospel to prisoners in 3 local facilities. They have seen inmates come to know Christ as their Savior and have also performed baptisms. In honor of our mothers for Mother’s Day, FBC donated $100 to each of the our 3 local pregnancy care centers!

Sons of the Savior Sunday School Class is back in the building! This class welcomes men of all ages to join them as they study the Bible together. You can find them in room #228. Second floor above office.
