ANNOUNCEMENTS
 
Promotion Sunday – Sunday, May 28 @ 9:15am – Join us in the sanctuary for a short program as we celebrate the end of the school year! We’ll be presenting Bibles to new 1st graders (current Kindergarteners), devotions to our new 4th graders (current 3rd graders), and acknowledging our 6th & 8th graders move to Middle & High Schools. We’ll also be thanking our teachers for their tireless work throughout the year. New classes will begin on Sunday, June 4th. Adult classes are invited to attend!
 
Special Memorial Opportunities Your donation will benefit the Montour County Veterans Assistance Fund. This fund assists local veterans in our area who have fallen on hard times. There is a special collection box located at the Welcome Desk. FBC will also be placing a wreath during the Memorial Day ceremonies.

Ladies Open Door Summer Study Begins this Wednesday! In person – 6:30pm | Zoom – 7pm. Proverbs study books and sign ups are in the Main Lobby. Suggested book donation is $17.
 
Spring Business Meeting Recap At the congregational meeting on May 24th, we began with voting on a new membership at the Deacon’s recommendation. A furnace update was given and it should be arriving this summer. Also discussed was the possibility of installing playgrounds and a pavilion for group use but also for outreach purposes. Any suggestions would be welcome.
 
Ladies Retreat Weekend September 15-17, 2023 at the gorgeous Linck Hill Inn, Morris, PA. Fellowship Fund Giving Opportunity In following the biblical directive to take care of our widows and orphans, FBC created the fellowship fund. This fund not only blesses those financially hurting in our church family, but also those who desire to invest in their marriages. If you would like to give, please note “Fellowship Fund” in the memo of your check or on your envelope.
 
COLLEGE AGE/YOUNG ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS Led by our DiscipleMakers missionary, Jared Knorr, you will have the chance to learn from God’s Word, discuss relevant topics, and make new friends. The class will be meeting in Room 8 (JR Kids) right off the corner of the gym. We hope you will join us and invite your friends!
 
Worship Night Our next worship night is almost here!! It will be next Sunday night, June 4th, in the chapel. Join us at 7pm for a laid back night of singing songs of praise to our amazing God!
 
FBC Summer Reading Program! Our Library is welcoming kids from Kindergarten to 6th grade to take part in our Bible Reading Challenge! Stop in to pick up your card and earn a prize once you have finished! A parent/guardian signature is required on your completed card for prize eligibility. Cards are due by August 13th! Happy reading!!

All Church Picnic – Sunday (5/21) @ 12PM at Mountain View Bible Camp, Snydertown – Grilled chicken, chips, & paper products will be provided. Side dishes and desserts will be welcome.  Bring ball gear for basketball, baseball, etc.  There is also a playground for the younger kids.  See you there!

New Class! Are you a college student looking for a place to grow in your faith and connect with others? Starting next Sunday, May 28th, we are launching a new Sunday School Class for college age and young adults!   The class will be led by our DiscipleMakers missionary, Jared Knorr.  You will have the chance to learn from God’s Word, discuss relevant topics, and make new friends.  The class will temporarily meet in Room 8 right off the corner of the gym.  We hope you will join us and invite your friends!

Scholarship Funds Available The Mission Board will be accepting applications for post-high school education from applicants planning to attend post-graduate training at an academic facility with the intent to pursue ministry or missionary work upon graduation. Applications can be picked up outside the Church Office. Deadline to submit your application is May 15th. For more information regarding the scholarship please contact Gary Lewis.

Youth Parent Meeting Sunday (4/30) @ 6PM in the chapel – This event will be focused on today’s issues concerning Christian Identity, Sexuality and Parenting from a biblical perspective. Pastor Luke will be discussing the biblical principles that guide our understanding of these topics and how we can effectively engage our children in discussion. It is open to all parents who are seeking guidance and support in navigating these important issues. We hope you will join us.
 
National Day of Prayer This Thursday, May 4th @ Noon – Join us and other local churches on the steps of the Montour County Courthouse to pray for our Nation, its leaders, teachers, service personnel, and more. Rain or shine! Bring a camp chair if you like.
 
Spring Fling The FBC Spring Fling Tent Needs YOU! Spring Fling takes place THIS SATURDAY, May 6th from 9am-4pm. We will be passing out church literature and bottles of water. MOPS is in charge of our craft area. Sign up today in the lobby or gym to help
during a time slot at the FBC tent. Great opportunity for ALL ages!

Awana Closing Celebration – Wednesday, April 26 – Pizza @ 5pm, Program @ 6pm – The Awana children have been hard at work all year learning verses and completing assignments as they hide God’s word in their hearts. Come and encourage them on as they receive their book awards! Please sign up for the meal in your Sunday School class or on the ramp bulletin board by today. All are welcome!!

Combined Adult Sunday School – May 7 – Jennifer Lake and Emily Shover from Dwell will be with us on Sunday, May 7th at 9:15am in the gym. They will be sharing about Dwell’s ministry, their outreach to the foster and adoption community, and how we as a church can wrap our arms around these families!!
