ANNOUNCEMENTS
Spring Fling 2018 – Planning Meeting – Wednesday 3/14 @ 5pm – Danville hosts their Spring festival on Mill Street on Saturday, May 5 from 9am to 5pm! FBC has their own tent and we encourage you to pray about joining us this year! We hand out bottled water, do crafts with children, sing with Praise Team and more!

Available at the Tract Rack: Special Easter editions from Our Daily Bread as well as the regular quarterly Our Daily Bread (available in large print!).  There are many great tracts & other resources to share with friends, family & co-workers.

Midweek Meal: Wednesday, March 14: Dinner is served 4:45-5:45 PM. This week’s menu is Chili, Texas Toast, Salad & the desserts you bring. Please sign up by Monday, March 12 on the Ramp Bulletin Board, in your SBS class or by calling the office. Suggested donation for meals is $3/person or $10/family. If you know of a shut-in or elderly person and would be willing to deliver a meal to them, it is free of charge. Please put their name on the sign up sheet and indicate “Shut-In”. Desserts are on a donation basis, so feel free to share a dessert any time.

Desserts Needed for Baptism Service We are looking for donations of sweets to celebrate the sweetness of God’s children stepping forward in faith to publically proclaim they are His! Please drop off desserts in the kitchen on Sunday 3/25 with “baptism” noted on it.

Holy Ambition in Thrive! Thrive is a Sunday Bible School class for young adults both single and newly married, who not only passionately pursue a deeper relationship with Christ but with other young adults as well! They will be starting a new study called Holy Ambition by Chip Ingram and they want to invite you to join them!

Easter Flowers may be ordered in honor or memory of a loved one. The suggested donation is $9. They will be available to take home on Easter Sunday after the 10:30 AM service. Please see the Info Desk or contact the church office by March 26 if you would like to participate.

Easter Breakfast If you would like to help crack a few eggs, come join the kitchen team! They will be serving breakfast at 8:15am on Easter Sunday 4/1. We are also asking for donations of sticky buns (2 dozen preferred). Please call the church office or circle the following on your connect card:· “B” Yes! I’d love to throw on an apron and help with the breakfast!· “S” Yes! I’d love to provide a pan or two of sticky buns!

Love the Tract Rack? Many, many thanks to Kathleen Fowler who has been lovingly ordering the tracts and organizing them. Kathleen is now looking to pass the baton. If you love spreading the good news and are quite organized, then this would be a cool ministry for you! Please call the church office if you are interested.

Holy Ambition in Thrive! Thrive is a Sunday Bible School class for young adults both single and newly married, who not only passionately pursue a deeper relationship with Christ but with other young adults as well! They will be starting a new study called Holy Ambition by Chip Ingram and they want to invite you to join them!
The Barnabas Basket – During the first weekend of every month, FBC collects food items for the Danville Food Bank. The collection basket will be in the Foyer today. The need for March is Cereal.

Bottles for Your Loving Choices Sanctity of Life speaker, Jackie Shuman from Your Loving Choices has dropped off a few bottles for anyone interested in filling them with loose change. They are located at the Info Desk in the main lobby.

Special Business Meeting Recap If you missed the Special Business Meeting last Sunday, feel free to pick up an informational letter at the Info Desk. Awana Derby Grandprix! The kiddos have begun working on their cars for the big race on Saturday, March 3rd, 2-4pm! We will also be having our first ever Derby Workshop where parents and kiddos can get help from the pros! This will take place on Friday, February 23rd. If you would like to help out at the Derby Workshop, the sign-up sheet is on the ramp bulletin board.

Lost & Found will be located in the Kitchen Lobby today. Please pick up your lost treasures ASAP! Any items leftover will be donated to the Salvation Army on February 12th.

MegaForce Ministry is Coming!! March 10, Steve Carrier and the MegaForce Team will give a high octane performance as they bend metal bars, break concrete blocks, and much more! They share that God is your true source of power in life and to seek Him with your whole heart! You will definitely want to bring your friends to this!! More info to come!

Children’s Church Resumes Today! Children ages 4 to 4th grade are welcome to their own service downstairs in the Youth Room during the 10:30am Sunday service. If you are interested in helping out with this ministry, please circle “C” on your connect card or call the office.

Ministry Fair Recap Despite icy conditions, the Ministry Fair went off without a hitch! 52 ministries were enthusiastically represented. Thank you to the many volunteers who put a lot of time and effort into their setups. A special thank you to Ruth Ann Hawkins for coordinating!

The Annual Business Meeting is on Wednesday, January 31 at 6:30pm. All are invited to come and hear what God is doing in and through FBC. Please note, only members may vote.

Winter Mosaic Event All “55+ ers” are invited to our Ministry & Outreach for Senior Adults In Christ event on Saturday January 27. We’ll gather from 1:00-4:00pm for a “ Game and Gab” time at Steve and Patty Miller‘s home. Please sign up in advance and bring a dessert or snack to share. Any questions, call Lynn Wonderland.

New Year’s Eve Celebration! Join us in the BFLC at 5pm for Dinner & a Movie!! Desserts on donation basis! We’ll be enjoying Italian food & watching The Case For Christ! The true story of Lee Strobel an investigative journalist – and avowed atheist – who applies his skills to disprove the Christian faith of his wife… with life-altering results.

Memorial Poinsettias Today is the last day to pick them up!

Barnabas Sunday: Next Week! During the first Sunday of every month, FBC collects food items for the Danville Food Bank. The collection basket will be in the Foyer next Sunday. January’s need is Macaroni & Cheese.

Marriage Seminar Coming to First Baptist on  ~ February 9-10 – House on the Rock Family Ministries will be coming to FBC with guest speaker Bruce McCracken! Marriage is a lifelong adventure of growing together through every age and stage of life.     caroling outing on Sunday evening, December 17!
  • The Christmas Tree of Love program reached out & blessed 27 families (74 people!) in our community. Special thanks to Ruth Ann Hawkins for coordinating this program!
  • 380 Truckers were blessed through donations FBC & other local churches provided
