Young Life is in need of a van! Young Life is a mission devoted to introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith. Several area churches involved with Young Life are purchasing a van for Brandon Casey (area leader) to use in transporting students to various functions. Care & Concern Ministry began in October ‘03 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. They make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery or are going through a tough time. This ministry has lifted the hearts of many as the love of Christ is shared in a practical & much needed way. Bells of Joy are Back Handbell choir is starting up for the Fall. Now is a great time to check it out! Our first rehearsal is tomorrow night from 6-7:15pm in the Bell Room. Note: you need to be able to read music.

 

“SAY YES” Wall Volunteer opportunities are being added weekly. Make sure you check it out and prayerfully consider where you can serve. Ministry Heads, if you are looking for help, let the office know and we will get it on the wall.

 

Sensory-Friendly Worship Area! “A shush-free, judgment-free zone where ALL can safely learn about God!” Our chapel has been fitted with wiggle seats, fidget toys, dimmable lights, noise-canceling headphones, a calming
special-effect light and more! We welcome all who have unique needs to enjoy this area during our services.

New Sunday Bible School Class Opportunity We are thinking of starting a new adult Sunday School class 10/8 to go through Paul David Tripp’s book “Do You Believe?”. If you are looking for a Sunday School class or would be interested in attending, please let us know by signing up on the ramp bulletin board or in Main Lobby.

Seats & Feets The Good Samaritan is hosting a Socks & Underwear Drive. They are collecting NEW socks & underwear for students in the Danville School District, ages K-12 boys & girls. Place the items in the designated baskets in the Main Lobby and gym areas. Donations are due by Nov. 5. Good Sam. will then distribute among the schools.

Served: 4:45-5:45PM | Suggested Donation is $3/person or $10/family
Sign Up by Monday: Ramp Bulletin Board, in SBS class or call the office
Menu: Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Mixed Vegetables & the desserts you bring. Desserts are on a donation basis; feel free to share a dessert any time.
Special Needs: If you know of a shut-in or elderly person you would like to deliver a meal to, please sign them up and indicate “Shut-In”. Meals for special needs are free of charge.

 

PRAYER WALK Next Sunday, Sept. 10 @ 12pm – We will meet at Canal Park amphitheater, then split into groups to walk around Danville. Non–walkers can stay at the amphitheater and pray. Please bring a snack and water. Prayer guides will be available there.

This fund not only blesses those financially hurting in our church family, but also those who desire to invest in their marriages. Picnic with the Schaeffers David, Jillian and family are here with us Sunday!! Join us after the second service for a picnic in the park at
Sunnybrook (right down the road) where we will be hearing more from David and Jillian on what’s happening next. Hotdogs, hamburgers and desserts will be provided. Please bring a side dish and/or drinks to share. You may also want to bring a lawn chair.

The Barnabas Basket is a monthly food collection that takes place on the first Sunday of the month (Communion Sunday). All donations are given to the Danville Food Bank. The basket will be located in the main foyer. September’s Need: Canned Vegetables
