Vintage Knolls Visit Join us this Saturday from 2-4pm. We will be singing and playing Christmas music. If anyone is willing to come and play a song or two, they are welcome to do so. Please contact Jen Van Horn if you plan on coming.

Memorial Poinsettias Order them in honor or memory of your loved ones. The suggested donation is $8.50. If you are interested, please contact the church office at (570) 275-1511 or sign up through our newsletter by Next Sunday! They will be available to pick up on December 15.

Care & Concern Ministry began in October ‘03 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. They make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery or are going through a tough time. This ministry has lifted the hearts of many as the love of Christ is shared in a practical & much needed way. Contact the office if you would like to be on our call list.

Fellowship Fund Giving Opportunity In following the biblical directive to take care of our widows and orphans, FBC created the fellowship fund. This fund not only blesses those financially hurting in our church family, but also those who desire to invest in their marriages. If you would like to give, please note “Fellowship Fund” in the memo of your check or on your envelope.

Project Christmas Card Goal: Send 500 Christmas cards to prisoners in the Columbia, Montour, Northumberland and NCSTU Prisons. All the cards have been taken. PLEASE fill out and return them ASAP to the baskets in the main lobby and gym areas! Cards due by next Sunday!!
Our prison ministry teams will then deliver them to the area prisons.

Christmas Tree of Love Christmas is a time of giving! You will find the Tree of Love in the kitchen foyer by the gym entrance. Each ornament represents a person and a gift request or suggestion. As God leads you, please take an ornament from the tree and return it unwrapped in a Christmas-style gift bag to the church office by December 11. Please keep the ornament with the gift so we can get it to the right person. If you are giving a gift card, please attach the receipt and/or the activation slip with the gift card.

Call for Cookies! We will be delivering gifts Dec. 13th and caroling Dec. 14th to our shut-ins. We love adding a goody bag of Christmas cookies. If you would like to donate any yummy cookies, please bring them to the kitchen by Thursday, December 12. Mark it for shut-ins. We will pack cookies on Thursday at 4PM.

Orchestra Players Needed! Need an excuse to dust off that instrument in the closet? Pastor John is looking for instrumentalists to accompany the singing during the services on December 22 and also the 7:30pm Christmas Eve Service. Rehearsal is Sun. morning (12/22) at 7:15 AM. Looking for Delivery Drivers Wanna rev your engines for a sweet cause? We are looking for drivers to assist us in dropping off Christmas gifts to our sweet home bound church family. Gift pick-up will be Friday, December 13th from 9am-4pm in the main foyer. Drivers will be provided with addresses and phone numbers. If interested, contact the church office.

Caroling SATURDAY, 12/14 @ 2 PM – Do you love caroling and spreading joy? Then join us as we hand out gifts and & sing to some of our dear shut ins and nursing home residents. To sign up, call the office (570) 275-1511.

ADVENT DEVOS ARE HERE This devotional features twenty-five passages to help you connect the transforming power of Scripture to all you will experience in your everyday life. May each reading draw you and your family closer to Jesus as you anticipate Christmas Day. Available at the Tract Rack.

Volunteers Needed for Sunday 10:30 Nurseries & 10:30 Jr. Kids Church. We are in need of some big servant hearts to join these teams to allow parents to “spiritually hydrate”. You can specify which team(s) and how often (1x/mo., 1x/6wks.). Safe Church Certification is needed. Thanksgiving Eve Service THIS WEDNESDAY @ 7PM – This service celebrates and gives thanks to God for all He has done for us throughout the year. There will be a time of worship, prayer, thanksgiving & devotion. You are welcome to bring visiting family & friends, as well! We hope to see you there. NO WEDNESDAY MEAL THIS WEEK!

Last Call for School Supplies! We are in need of new school supplies for the upcoming trip to Honduras in December. We are also asking for NEW, SMALL stuffed animals (no bigger than a Beanie Baby) to hand out during the kids’ ministry time. Collection basket is in the main lobby through December 1st. Here is a list of items we are looking for:

Sensory-Friendly Worship Area “A shush-free, judgment-free zone where ALL can safely learn about God!” Our chapel has been fitted with wiggle seats, fidget toys, dimmable lights, noise-canceling headphones, a calming special-effect light and more! We welcome all who have unique needs to enjoy this area during our services!

The Barnabas Basket is our monthly food collection. All donations are given to the Danville Food Bank. The basket is located in the main foyer the first Sunday of each month. Decembers Need: Soup. They’re looking for volunteers to help distribute food the 2nd Sat. of every month.

Fishnet This group of amazing ladies meets on Thursdays from 9AM-12 noon at the home of Linda Beyer. They process large quantities of eyeglasses and sunglasses to be sent all over the world! If you would like to join them, please contact Donna Outt.

Christmas Opportunities Coming Soon Christmas will be here before we know it. The Christmas cards for the prisoners will be available to pick up next week and the Tree of Love will be set up the week of Thanksgiving!

Annual Business Meeting is SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16 @ 9AM – Breakfast served at 8:30AM. Please pick up a copy of the proposed Constitutional changes and the Annual Report for review. One per family. Also, the proposed budgets and Nominating Committee report are posted on the ramp bulletin board for review before the meeting. We encourage your attendance as we discuss these matters. Please sign up in lobby if you are coming for breakfast!!

International Day of Prayer for Persecuted Christians This day is set aside as a global prayer meeting on behalf of persecuted Christians who stand as a bold witness to Christ on the world’s most dangerous frontiers. Prayer guides are available at the mission wall and Welcome Table in the gym.

Costa Rica Benefit Dinner Sat., Nov. 23 @ 6pm – Come for a delicious meal of spaghetti & meatballs, salad, garlic bread, and desserts prepared by the students and parents. The cost is free and all donations will go towards the Youth Mission trip in June. Sign-ups and details coming soon!!

Winterwear Collection We are collecting gently used, like-new winter outerwear, e.g. coats, hats, gloves, scarves, snowpants, etc. They will be delivered to Rochester, NY where our missionary Marvin Robinson will hand them out to the community. Donation Box in main lobby. Due 11/17.

Project Updates

Trunk or Treat—over 1400 bags were packed with goodies!
College Care—24 boxes were prepared and prayed over! Boxes are available for pick-up in the Main Lobby for those who requested it. Thank you for your generosity!!

Vintage Knolls Visits This Saturday, Nov. 9th from 2-4p, we will be visiting Vintage Knolls to engage in various activities such as crafts and games. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive impact on our community and build relationships. For more information or if interested in attending, contact Jen Van Horn. On Dec. 7th we are looking for a few people willing to play an instrument. Let’s come together to share the love of Christ!

COFFEE HOUR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We sure do appreciate having coffee between services and people willing to come in to make the coffee and set up all those goodies. Our coffee team could use your help. They are looking for a few more people to join the team. It’s a once a month time commitment. If you are interested, please talk to the Puccios or any of the team members in the kitchen.

If you feel called to help, please join us for an informational meeting on the last Sunday of this month. Josh Long will be sharing his experience in working with Samaritan’s Purse. Your participation can make a significant difference!

Outerwear Collection We are once again collecting gently used, like new outerwear for our missionaries, the Robinson’s to hand out to people in Rochester, NY. Look for box in Main Lobby. Donations due Nov. 17th.

Ladies Grief Group will be starting up again on Wednesday evenings, beginning Nov. 6th in the Conference Room. If you have lost someone, you do not need to go through it alone! This group provides a safe and supportive space to share experiences and find comfort in each other’s company.

Bells of Joy are Back! Handbell choir is starting up for the Fall. Now is a great time to check it out! The first rehearsal is tomorrow night from 6-7:15pm in the Bell Room. Note: you need to be able to read music.

Candy Collection & Help for Trunk-or-Treat The Danville Primary School will be hosting their 4th Annual Trunk-or-Treat event on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 5-7pm and FBC will have a trunk present! Rain date is Wed., Oct. 23. Here are a few ways you can help:

Samaritan’s Purse Trip Info Meeting Sun., Oct. 27 @ 9am Under balcony in sanctuary – We are organizing a team to assist with hurricane relief and rebuilding efforts. If you feel called to help, please join us for an informational meeting on the last Sunday of this month. Josh Long will be sharing his experience in working with Samaritan’s Purse. Dessert Reception Tonight: 6pm – We will be hearing from our team that went to Word of Life, Canada, in June. All are invited to join us for ice cream sundaes in the gym as we hear how the team ministered to our missionaries, Jonathan & Melissa Ward. Dessert donations greatly appreciated!

The Elective Sunday School Class will be restarting Paul David Tripps’ book, “Do You Believe?” today in Room 230. Next week they will resume meeting in Room 102.

Bells of Joy are Back! Handbell choir is starting up for the Fall. Now is a great time to check it out! The first rehearsal will be Monday, Oct. 14 from 6-7:15pm in the Bell Room. Note: you need to be able to read music.

College Ministry Opportunity! Here is a way for us as a church to show our college students our love and support. We are collecting items that will be sent out at the end of October. You can donate items such as snacks, candy and stationery. For a complete list, please see the table in the lobby or the Welcome Table in the gym! Donation Box is by the kitchen. We reset our list every semester. If you would like your student to receive a package, please submit their information, even if it’s the same. We will be packing the boxes on Monday the 28th at 6pm in the gym! Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated to help cover the cost of shipping. Designate “College Ministry” & place in offering.

Donuts with the Deacons Sunday, Oct. 6 9-9:20 & 10:10-10:30 in the gym. Meet your mini-flock deacon! A Mini Flock is like a small family within the larger church family. Each family is assigned a deacon alphabetically by last name. Your Mini Flock Deacon is another way you are guided and supported by your church family here at FBC.

FBC Connect Class BEGINS SUNDAY! 9:15AM – If you are new here and would like to know what we are all about or if you have questions on being baptized or becoming a member, then this is your class! This 3-part class will take place in the Conference Room (across from the church office) during the Sunday School hour.

Care & Concern Ministry began in October ‘03 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. They make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery or are going through a tough time. This ministry has lifted the hearts of many as the love of Christ is shared in a practical & much needed way. Circle “C” if you would like to be on our call list & write the contact number you’d prefer on your connect card.

Project Love 2024

Oct. 12 is the Day of Service where several area churches come together to show love to the Danville area through community-wide
service projects. Signup at www.projectlovedanvillepa.com or scan QR code to participate in one of the projects.
Oct. 13 is the Night of Worship here at the church. Save the date and get ready for an amazing gospel weekend. Follow the Facebook page “Project Love-Danville, PA” for the latest information.
Available Projects:

Exterior clean-up, crafts at the Gate House 9:30-12, 8 and up
Painting, minor clean-up at Washingtonville FD 9:30-12, all ages
Cleaning, organizing at Thomas Beaver Library 9:30-12:30, all ages
Painting, clean-up trails & lawn at Montour Preserve 10-1, all ages
Assisting residents around their fall fest at Grandview 12-2pm, all ages
Crafts, bingo, activities at Vintage Knolls 2-4pm, all ages
Prayer walk beginning across from Cole’s 4:30-5:30pm, all ages
