Picnic with the Schaeffers David, Jillian and family are here with us Sunday!! Join us after the second service for a picnic in the park at
Sunnybrook (right down the road) where we will be hearing more from David and Jillian on what’s happening next. Hotdogs, hamburgers and desserts will be provided. Please bring a side dish and/or drinks to share. You may also want to bring a lawn chair.
The Barnabas Basket is a monthly food collection that takes place on the first Sunday of the month (Communion Sunday). All donations are given to the Danville Food Bank. The basket will be located in the main foyer. September’s Need: Canned Vegetables

Football Chapel is Friday! The next chapel for the Ironmen football team is this Friday at 6:55AM in the Iron Forge. They enjoy a time of devotions and singing followed by breakfast! Be praying for this ministry and the students that attend!
 
Breakfast Sweets Needed Our Sunday morning Coffee Hour team would be grateful for any homemade or store-bought breakfast foods. Please drop off in the kitchen before 9am. Wanna join the team? Talk to one of our team members! A HUGE Thank You for the donations we’ve received!!
 
Make a Bee-Line to the Library! Check out the new arrivals that have just buzzed in!! Your children will bee thrilled with the selection of books and DVDs. Please bee sweet as honey and make sure you’re returning what you’ve borrowed. Don’t worry! We don’t sting for late returns!
 
Men’s Open Gym Senior High guys and older meet for a game or two of basketball, Mondays from 7-9pm. Questions? Contact group point person, Tony Zaklama.
 
Fishnet This group of amazing ladies meets on Thursdays from 9AM-12 noon. They process large quantities of eyeglasses and sunglasses to be sent all over the world! If you would like to join them, please call Donna Outt, (570) 594-6218. Now till the end of August they will be meeting at the church in Room 7.
 
Active Retired Men in Service Thursdays @ 8:30AM. This great group of guys meets for devotions, prayer time and lots of fellowship! Following their group time, they also help out around the church as well. Come on over!

PRAYER WALK – Sunday, Sept. 10 @ 12pm – We will meet at Canal Park amphitheater, then split into groups to walk around Danville. Non–walkers can stay at the amphitheater and pray. Please bring a snack and water. Prayer guides will be available there.
 
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is starting a new season! Our new theme is about Saying Yes to this year, in this place, with these people! Hope to see you there. Say Yes!

Kitchen Call Do you enjoy cooking? How about helping in the kitchen? Or setting up the dining area? Maybe even dishwashing! Wednesday Family Meals will be back in action SOON and they need your help! Call the office, if interested! Also, if you know of any shut-ins that could use a meal on Wednesdays, call the office (570) 275-1511!
 
DivorceCare Divorced? Separated? Struggling in your marriage? Divorce Care is a special seminar and support group that will walk with you through topics like, What’s happening to me?, Facing My Anger, KidCare, Forgiveness, Financial Survival and more. Registration cost is $15.

Devoted A class dedicated to following God’s design for marriage and challenging one another to live it out. This group led by Pastor John & Shelly Messner will be meeting Wed. nights at 6pm in the back of the sanctuary beginning September 6. Their first study will be Love & Respect: the Crazy Cycle by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs.

Care & Concern Ministry began in October 2003 and is a group of some of the biggest hearts around. This ministry has lifted the hearts of many as the love of Christ is shared in a practical & much needed way. Contact the church office if you would like to be on our call list. They help out in the following areas as their gifts and abilities allow:
  • Make and take meals to those who have had babies, surgery or are going through a tough time
  • Drive people to appointments
  • Sit with the homebound
  • Help with lawn care
  • Shovel snow off walk ways and driveways
  • Light cleaning
