The Barnabas BasketDuring the first Sunday of every month, FBC collects food items for the Danville Food Bank. The collection basket will be in the Foyer today. The need for August is Peanut Butter and Saltine Crackers.

Awana Online Registration has begun! We welcome all kiddos ages 3 to 6th grade to join us during the school year Wednesdays  from 6pm-7:30pm. The first club meet is September 6th! …What is an Awana? Young Adult Summer Retreat! If you’re 18 years old or more, you do not want to miss this! August 18-20 will be a time of camping, Rail to Trail biking, and white water rafting! The cost is $100 and covers transportation, food, camping, bike rentals and rafting. Cost is due by next Sunday, August 13th. To reserve your spot or for more information, contact Lynn Wintersteen.

The First Football Chapel is scheduled for Friday, August 25 at 6:30 AM! Men are needed to make and serve breakfast to the football team and cheerleaders. Please circle “F” or contact the office if you can help.

Tim Zimmerman & The King’s Brass  Free concert at 7pm on Tuesday, August 22nd. This group provides innovative worship for young and old alike through the “best in sacred brass music.” There is even an opportunity for us locals to toot our own horns during the show! Please see Pastor John for the music to practice. A freewill offering will be taken during the concert.

Housing for King’s Brass Musicians Needed FBC is looking for homes for 9 musicians after the show. They’ll each need their own bed. If you are interested in this opportunity, please call the church office.

The Good Samaritan Mission Socks & Underwear Drive is here! Please bring your donation of new socks and/or underwear for boys and girls, sizes 4-16 to the chapel foyer until Sunday, August 13th. These items will be given by the Good Samaritan ministry to local students in need as they prepare for the new school year.

School Supplies for Haiti  During the month of August, the Haiti Team is collecting school supplies for the children of Haiti. We’ll take these supplies with us and distribute them during our November trip. Please leave your donations of the following suggested items in the barrel outside Springer Chapel.

  • Wooden Pencils
  • Ball Point Pens
  • Boxes of Crayons
  • Spiral notebooks, large with 70 pages
  • Notebooks of graph paper
  • Erasers* (not a slip-on pencil eraser)
  • Small individual pencil sharpeners
  • Toothbrushes
  • Small tubes of toothpaste
