Midweek Meal: The menu for Family Dinner time for this Wed, Sept. 24th is Tender & Delicious Chicken pieces, Crispy Oven Roasted Potatoes, Gorgeous Green Beans & Luscious Desserts. Please sign up by Mon., Sept. 22, on the Ramp Bulletin Board, in SBS, or by calling the office. Suggested donation for meals is $3 per person/$10 per family. If you know of an elderly or shut-in person and would be willing to deliver a meal to them, it is free of charge. Please sign up on the bulletin board or in SBS and indicate “Shut-In”.
Volunteers are needed as we host another Football Chapel on Friday, Sept. 26. Those who can help need to be at the church by 9:00 AM.
The Romans Road Challenge has begun! As soon as you learn the 5 Romans Road verses, we’d like you to put your initials/name on a cutout provided and add it to the Romans Road bulletin board downstairs.
Children will receive their cutouts from their SBS teachers when they have learned the 5 verses. Our goal is to add 200 cutouts by October 26th.!Bookmarks with the verses are available on the bulletin board or Info Desk.
“Exploring FBC” will be offered at 9AM each Sunday in October. This is a class for those interested in finding out more about our church, baptism, and/or membership. Talk to Pastor Dawes if you would like to attend or have questions.
Attention Parents of College Students: It’s that time again, when Lynn Wi and her crew BLESS your hard-working children with boxes of goodies! We will have forms NEXT week to begin collecting their info AND a box for those of you who wish to donate. THANKS!
Passion 2015, a Gathering of 18-25 year olds and their leaders, is happening January 2-4, 2015 in Atlanta, GA. Roger and Lynn W are willing to take a group, but would like to have a commitment from at least 6, with a deposit of $50 by September 28th. Please check out their site at 268generation.com/passion2015 to see all they are offering. The total cost of the registration and motel will be approximately $300. Talk to the leaders for more information.
A Pray 31 Atlas will be available next Sunday for you to use to join in a historic 31 day journey of prayer from October 1—October 31. The Atlas has 31 days of focused prayer for every key area of American Life and can be used to pray for every state in our country leading up to elections in November.
New update letters from Joel & Michelle Jenney and Franklin & Nerlie Alexis are available in the Chapel hallway along with other letters from our missionary families.
Don’t forget to continue to bring plastic linen covers and gently used suitcases to the church. These are needed to transport items to Haiti. If you still have your offering soup can, please return it to the church. This money is designated toward fluoride treatments and glasses for the Haiti trip.
The CROP Hunger Walk is scheduled for October 19 at Hess Field. If you would like to participate in a walk to help people find ways to feed their families, please check out the information on the ramp bulletin board, or call the office for additional materials.
Hygiene Items are needed for the Good Samaritan Mission to help students in Danville Schools (grade 5 and up). School nurses will distribute standard sized bottles (not travel size) of shampoo/conditioner, body soap (bar or liquid),deodorant, and towels/washcloths. No need to buy name brand; generic is fine. Please place these items in the designated box in the chapel hallway.
A collection box for books has been placed right outside the kitchen door. These books will be donated to the Columbia County Prison. If you have some new or gently used books that you feel would be helpful to inmates, please drop them in the box during the month of September.
