Attention Ladies Retreat Crew: We will meet at FBC parking lot on Friday, Sept. 5, at 4:30 PM to load the vans with departure at 5:00 PM sharp! Estimated return time will be between 3:30-4:00 on Sunday. Please contact Sheri Croll if you have any conflicts concerning departure time.
Midweek Meal: Some members of our Wednesday Kitchen Crew, who prepare and serve our Wednesday evening meal, are retiring. We are looking for new recruits! If you can help or have questions, please contact the office.
Time Change: Following the meal, our midweek ministries will start at 6:00 PM this year. This is one half hour earlier than in previous years. The meal will be served from 4:45-5:45 PM.
Volunteers are needed for Awana. No planning required ~~ just spending time with children. Plan on having fun and developing some special relationships with children. This is a great opportunity for High School and college-age students, and we’d love to have you involved in this ministry.
The MOPS ministry is in need of two co-teachers: one for the 2 year old room and one for the 4-6 year old room. No preparation is required. Please contact the office if you are able to help!
Choir: If you are interested in joining the adult choir for this season of ministry, see Bob Davies or contact the office. Rehearsals begin on Sept. 7 at 8:00 AM. Regular rehearsal schedule is Sunday evening at 7:15 PM in the Sanctuary. The Choir ministers the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month and on special occasions.
"Daughters of the Divine” Sunday Bible Class is beginning a new series “Intimacy with the Almighty: Encountering Christ in the Secret Places of Your Life,” by Charles R. Swindoll. This study will help participants find that inner satisfaction is neither complicated nor mystical, but it does call for some radical changes. Difficult changes. Unpopular changes. Lifestyle changes. Essential changes in the secret places of our lives. Without these changes, however, intimacy with the Almighty remains a distant dream and we are left with the frightening alternative of feeling “lonely, hollow, shallow, and enslaved to a schedule that never lets up.”
“Daughters of the Divine” is a class geared toward single women (approximately 30-50 years of age). Check out the new look in their room (105), and consider joining them for this study which will begin September 7th.
